Should I eat wheat before a wheat allergy blood test?

I am having blood tests in a couple of hours and I’m wondering whether I should eat wheat before the tests?

I am trying to cut down on the amount of wheat I eat because I am in the middle of my exam period and wheat gives me really bad IBS

But if I’m being tested for it should I have some before my blood test?

Thankyou

When I had the test, I was told to eat normally. If you avoid all gluten (wheat and other grains), then the test might not be as accurate because the allergic reaction being looked for will be lessened.

Good luck – gluten allergies suck (mostly at first, but it gets easier to deal with after a while)

Everything I have read says to avoid what makes you sick and to avoid all medications if you can before seeing an allergist.

No, that isn’t necessary. If you are allergic to wheat it will show up on the blood test. No exta wheat is needed nor is it a good idea to eat it, and let your IBS ruin your exams.

Talk with the person who is giving the test.
