I found a great health food store here, they have a ton of gluten free stuff. i thought of you.
avoiding gluten probably sucks. i have to avoid MSG and it is the worst. seems like gluten can be in almost everything, just as MSG can be.
its nice you’ve found so many foods that look healthy and mostly delicious

I am 14 years old and have celiac disease and diabetes. Out of 3million Americans i happen to be one of the lucky ones. I have a great family who supports me all the way. Im not mad at my life or look down on anything i’ve ever done. Celiac disease does suck. but i have it and i live life with it. I also have no symptoms at all. People with celiac disease, life your life to the fullest. Don’t cheat on your diet, it will hurt you in the future. YaY WEGMANS superstore! =]

A simple blood test …
A simple blood test is not the gold standard diagnosis! Small bowel biopsy is. If Heidi went by a blood test alone, I’m assuming she had a positive EMA. The other blood tests aren’t all that specific for celiac disease. A perfectly healthy person can have ane elevated IGG. And tTg can be positive with other auto-imminune dieases as well as celiac.

A biopsy can clinch the diagnosis. I’ve had this illness since I was two, and I had those same symptoms. By the time I was diagnosed, I looked like a starved baby. My parents had to take me to a specialist who performed a biopsy and found it.

I have some well …
I have some well most of the symptoms of celiac disease… Is there a difference between being gluten sensitive and celiac? I recently was on a low carb diet, would it be considered gluten free to go back to my low carb diet? If anyone can help me PLEASE let me know. I will mention this to my doctor but in the meantime I was just curious as to how to go about trying to be gluten free for a while as a sort of test.
